What Preserved Sterile Water Is

Preserved sterile water is sterile water with approximately 0.9% benzyl alcohol added as a preservative. That preservative is the entire difference from plain sterile water: it inhibits bacterial growth inside the vial once the rubber stopper has been punctured, so a single 10ml vial is multi-use instead of requiring immediate single-session use.
